Default 6.7 dpf regen

The regen cycle comes on at least once while diving to and from work. The drive is 25 miles each way all highway at around 75 to 80 mph. I have the edge with attitude but its at stock setting while drivin to work. . . Not sure if its normal and have seen allot of guys havin truble after takin truck to stealership. . Anyone else havin this and is it normal. . . Truck has no other issues, mpg around 16 to 17 and i have 8600 miles 2 1/2 months old

As long as it is coming on its should be fine. The problem people were having was it wasn't doing the regen.

I have a similar commute distance, and mine regenerates at least once per day.

Do you know what your EGT's are running? I seem to remember in the hubby's manual that it said something about a hour at highway speeds triggering the regen process. But if your EGT's are high I wonder if that could trigger it also.

I see both of you guys are running the Attitude - - wonder if that has something to do w/ the constant regening?

My only two fears are 1- causing damage to the DPF's from the constant cycles and 2 - fuel mileage.

It just doesn't seem logical that you'd be building up enough carbon in one 50 mile day to need to regen.

It may be going into regen a long time before it gets full.

On the highway my EGT is about 700-900 when not in regen mode; 850-1050 when regenerating. I keep my Edge in Mode 0. I found that Mode 0 gives better fuel economy than Mode 1 (mileage). If your husband's Ram does not have an Attitude monitor or at least an EGT gauge, he probably doesn't know when or how often it regenerates.

I Have found the same with mine on the settings. The only thing that surprised me was i left it on 5 on a trip from jersey to vermont 305miles and it only regened once and got 20.3 mpg hand calculated. On the way back with speeds the same and edge at 0 it regened twice and got 17.5 hand calculated. Just affraid that the drivetrain will suffer if left on 5. As for the EGTs they are running around 700-900 on level ground and up to 1300 unloaded up hills at 70-80 mph.... In the 1/4 mile drags it has hit 1640......... That scared me
