Window Tint
So I'm getting my windows tinted next week but right now I am undecided on what I want to get. The back windows already have the privacy tint on them which is like 20%. My question is do I want to put a limo tint over that 5% or will that be pretty impossible to look back through? Or do I put another layer of 20% on the back and make it darker? Or do I just tint the front two to match? Does anyone have pictures of theirs tinted? Jimmy what do you have and how hard is it to see out of at night?
Just my opinion... I would not make the back any darker than they are. I would also make the front not quite as dark as the back. My last truck had the fronts done as dark as the back and it sucked at night.
I know quite a bit about tints now so I thought I would chime in if you don't mind.
Taking the 20% off in the back and putting the 5% on is not impossible to see out the back. When most tint first goes on, it is really dark though. After about a month or so it will calm down and thats how it will stay for a long time. When I first put 5% on the back of my truck I couldnt see crap when I would back up at night. BUT in the Texas heat in the summer it made it A LOT cooler inside the cab!!!
I went with 20% on the driver windows because I wanted the privacy. At first you can't see out of it. After about 3 weeks you get used to it and it is fine. It is reallyyy nice during the day, at night it is just something you have to get used to. I like it because you can't see inside my vehical at all! with about $3000 in audio equipment that is important.
Since you have a quad cab the darker in the back you go the harder it is to see in, and a little bit out. It is all personal preference. Keep in mind 20% on the driver windows is not legal in most states. You will have to go to a lil' "ghetto" place so they will do it. A lot of places will not do it.
If you like privacy go for 5%rear, 5% rear windows, and 20% driver windows so you can see out at night.

My rear window didn't have anything soI had my guydo limo tint with two layers. The back door windows (Megacab) had privacy glass from the factory so i put (1) layer of limo over that. Mine is nice and dark and I love because people cant see inside and I can still see out.

mine had the privacy tint..and i put 5 over it all so it wouldnt look goofy...it matches real well with the rest of the truck and NO ONE can see in the back...u will NOT be able to see backing up at night..and will have to rolll down the window to back up...thats all!
if i am not mistaken..the 20% that is already on the back??? well that is tined INTO the window from the dealer...so the tint is acaully IN the glass....as far as i know...
