Default 5.9 L vs 6.7 L

For all of you who have owned both, or know a lot about them please leave me some feedback.

Does dodge do a good job on the 6.7 L or is it still very troublesome? I reallyyy want the 6speed 6.7 over the 5.9 4 speed... Not if it has a lot of problems though.

So the guys that do own the 6.7 L, do you have any problems??

let me know please! thank you!

Is the tranny good on that? I mean I would hate to have a 4 speed on a diesel that only goes up to about 3000RPM!

What is your milage like?

I am running 35's with a Diablo sport predator and I am getting (hand calculated) around 17-19 depending on traffic and hours I drive

its not neccessarily the fact that its a four speed it is more so the gearing of the transmission that will make the difference.... theres always the manuals....

I have a 5.9 3500 (wifes, lillfrogger) and a 6.7 2500 that i drive ,i love the new 6.7 i havent had a single problem with mine i think the problems are being handled by dodge and cummins quite well especially considering ford 6.0hhnos were told by ford they were on there own and basicly tough sh#t .!mine is a 6spd and hers a auto. I love mine tons of power but very diferent sounding. but well worth bying.

So do most people agree that the 6.7 is worth trying if I buy the truck new?

And if I get a used truck buy a 5.9L?

This late in the game there is not much of a choice on the matter.

I have had both; a 2004.5 5.9L and now a 2007.5 6.7L. The quiet power of the 6.7L engine, smooth shifting of the 6 speed auto, and the integrated exhaust brake are what sold me. I have had the turbo replace on my engine, but no other problems with 6000 miles. Truck was in the shop for three days total.
