It has the 6.7L, all the new trucks do over here at least.

I know all about the 6.7L problems, but i'm willing to take the risk. For one, I want a 6speed! I can't really see why a diesel would have a 4speed to be honest. That is just me though....

If you are poking around on ebay pay attention to some of the dealers that are selling new ones. There are a couple in North Carolina and I think one in Idaho that are selling new rigs at factory invoice (not sticker) minus the rebates, minus half the hidden costs. For example these are trucks that sticker for $43k that are offered for $10K less. When I was looking for mine I started looking for a low mileage used one, found that for a couple thousand more I could get a brand new one. I used the ebay add for one of the dealers in North Carolina as a barganing tool to get one at a local dealer, basically gave me the same deal. Some of the ebay dealers claim that they will help arrange shippment or fly you in and you can drive it home. Looking at their inventory, they have quite a lot to choose from.

I think mine was all timing. It was the end of January, it was an '06 the last on the lot, they had a bunch of '07's on the lot, It had been there for a while, the salesman I had had been on vacation for 2 weeks that month with no commissions, etc.

It's all just a big game and alot has to do with being in the right palce at the right time.

What I've always tried to do is buy the last remaining one of a model year when they have a bunch of the next years sitting on the lot. They just want rid of them.

I'd wait till there's only a few '07's around and almost all '08's if that's really what you want and you're willing to wait for a good deal.

Like CUJO said, on a $43k truck they should be knocking $10k off right off the bat. You should be able to get $1-2k more in the deal.

Just my opinion.

Theres the worlds largest Dodge dealer in Idaho. I forget the name of the town but they say they can beat any price. Might be worth poking around.
