I put every spare penny I make into mine, the only way I will lose it is if someone steals it.Hey Drew,just wondering.I know part of what makes the big diesels run forever is that you can replace all of the internals and its good as new. Can we bore our cylinders and use piston sleeves if we need to rebuild a 5.9? Would it be worth it? When is it time for a rebuild? Sorry bout all the questions, Thanks buddy

on our engines, if the engine ever needs a rebuild it mostly involves the crank bearings. Thecompression rings on the piston are stout enough you would have to realy trash the engine to dammage them. they have the same keystone design the OTR truck engines use.
yes, the ISB block can be bored out, Tritons engine is. but whats the point unless you have substantial damage like he did. Also our engines are too small to have sleeves.
even though Cummins has stated a 300K life span on these engines, there are quite a few on the road to this day sporting well past 5-700K and a few that have gone past the million barrier.
