What's the steepest Hw % Grade you've found?
I dunno what the highway is i'm really not sure the number is off but it's going from lancaster pa to just south of state college there's a hill with mebbe 12% grade that my jeep can barely make it. 45mph 3rd gear 4500 rpms screamin demon.
SUpposedly some of the steepest Interstate Grades in America are on I-5 through the Siskiyou Mountains (Oregon, just across the CA border) However I went over that this past summer pullin my 5'er and was not all that thoroughly impressed with the difficulty of pulling it, maybe it was the cummins that made it less impressive.
I had more foot into the floor trying to get over Vantage pass (I think it is called) on I-90 going west, just after you cross the Columbia.
I-95 out of Lewiston is also a nice grade, I believe around 7% if my math is correct.
Here is a nice one here in the Sierras I believe, never been there, but just seen the pic.

well there a big one not far from were i live,2 years ago a bus full of old people failed to put the correct gear on before going down and warped his braked going down, there is a sharp turn at the bottom and a 30 feets ravine ...40 deaths...that was not the first time but the biggest toll, now they sweetened the slope to make it less dangerous....
