what is interesting is to look at the list of mods. . .most of those d-max's dont even carry over the origional block when they are finaly done building the engine.

the blocks are reworked for higher strength to handle the power output.

they may not be new in the traditional sence, but they are worked over rather extensively

I'd sure be tempted to join the 08 challenge but.... my truck isn't that bad. Having the money to spend does help get you in the running but, it doesn't have too. There's plenty of trucks that run unreal times and have unreal pulls that are built on t budget.

This year a 06 mega cummins out of Miami did take second. It's a 10 second truck with over 1100hp ! I think one of the reasons the DMax won was the mileage challenge. That's a big thing to overcome when your truck is modded all to hell. The Dmax IIRC averaged 20mpg over the 100 mile course.

 

Do it Triton, Show those turds who's boss. I do agree that it would take one heluva truck to get-r-done, you're pretty close to being there though. I dont remember if that guy was using nitrous. It think its funny howmost ofthe dodge guys are running nothing but #2, and most of the ferd and chevs have nitrous. Maybe that is what it would take though. Someone to stoop down to their level and use a drug.
