Whoa that SUCKS !!

Fill out your sig so that we know what year Ram you have. Either way, I'd get the FASS for a fuel pump. As far as an injection pump goes, I dunno, sorry ...

If you got like an 01, the pumps just go out after awhile. its a vp44

Performance wise is there anything better than the VP44? the vp44 will cost me ~1500 a few hundred dollars more will not kill me.

I know some company makes a Hot Rod VP44. As far as I know best thing to do is new pump and as your filter/tank pump just get a FASS. Talk to mayfair about that. He has pictures and all for his install

industrial injection makes modified VP's. also theres a link a few threads down for blue chip performance. . .might be wise to give them a ring. it is good to call around. Ken_n_az has a link to a place that sells VP's for a VERY good price, but they are stockers. then call Jason at Diesel Nut Motorsports and see what he's got. there are quite a few other places around that rebuild VP's for not only better performance, but also longer life.

go with a fass for the lift pump and look up Scheid Diesel for your vp44. If it is 03 or newer it will be a cp3 main pump.
