Default Insurance

I finally saw how much it was going to cost to insure the ram for a year- about 2600 bucks through our provider. Thats just crazy- for our 02 bmw its about 1600 a year, the 02 durango 1200 a year. Why are these things so much to insure-its a 6 year old truck now. My family insures around 8 cars throught them and I would think there would be some kind of break. Does anyone else have to pay this much?

My 07 is about $70 a month. I'm also only 23, but I'm married.

And I have full coverage w/$500 deductible.

WOW! I pay about 1400 per year for my truck and my wifes Impala and was bitching!
Although I was told by the insurance agent that the RAM truck for some reason is listed in the highest insurance cost bracket. Apparently all cars are listed in some sort of bracket that determines cost, I guess based upon repair costs and likelyhood of accidents...I dunno. Anyway, she told me that that my truckwas a level 15 which was the highest.

FWIW I have Encompass for my insurance company (sold by a local agent), as have been told by an agent that sells Allstate, that there is no way I was going to find cheaper insurance, because they were still relatively new (less than 10 years old) so their liabilities were still VERY LOW. I also ensure my home, my RV and have a nice umbrella policy with them, so that may help a little, but You might check them out and see if you can save a few bucks. I don't know how they are about handling claims because I have never made one, but having a local agent to help is priceless!
