i wish i could find a gf around here that knows more than just that a diesel engine powers their dady's tractors.... lol

Dude that is AWESOME !! Thanks a lot for the pics.

Are you just replacing the studs, or are you doing other work to the head while you have it out as well?

BTW: DEFINATELY a keeper !!

I just did the studs and the gasket. My truck is back to running again, the fuel system was dry so I just cycled the FASS a few times cracked the number 1 and 4 injectors (easiest to get a wrench on) and she stumbled to life and then quickly evened out. Man was I happy to have her back, I'd never dug in anywhere near that far on anything with more than 2 cylinders before. Also the valve lash DIY was very helpful, I did find one difference though that applies to guys like me and Mayfair who don't have the common rail. The TDC mark is on the pump gear, you just have to pull the breather to see it, which just unscrews as a unit.
