Default debadging question

Hey guys I want to take the 2500 off of my 99 cummins, I am kinda scared to take it off, I don't know what it will do to the paint, is there some kind of solution you put on it to just make it peel off or what?

For what it's worth, I've read here to use a heat gun to soften the two sided tape, then slide some fishing line through the tape to remove the badge. The residue can be removed with goo gone or simular cleaner.

A word of caution ......because of the age of your paint (1999), when the emblems are removed, the paint beneath themwill likely have a brighter finish due to the surrounding paint becoming faded over the years.

Hope this helps........

A heat gun, fishing line and some Goo-Gone is all u need. Take the heat gun and get the badge warm then take the fishing string and saw it back and forth behind the badge. There shouldnt be much left just clean it up with the Goo- Gone. It worked great for me hope this helps.

I did mine last weekend - - best advice - - take your time. Don't get frustrated and start to rush - - also make sure you have plenty of Goo-Off

Besides the fishing line & chemicals you'll want something soft to scrap w/. The backing on the letters is not going to just come off you gotta work em a little bit. I finally found a use for all those indistructable plastic packages they've been torturing me with every birthday & Christmas
