Default Air Conditioning

So I understand that your AC runs on basically a compressor but does everyones make such a god awful noise when they fire it up? I started mine today and it make the worst noise ever. Is that right or is it something that I should get looked at?

It ain't right. All you should be able to hear is a click as it engages and disengages.

I wouldn't put it off too long. Before you know it summer will be here again the parts may become hard to get.

Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today !!

Mine sometimes makes a bang noise, much louder than the typical "click", but then I never hear it cycle after that. But it is loud the first time it engages. The compressor itself doesn't make any noise.
When it gives up, I'll replace the clutch.
