Retail on the Grey Sentry thieft deterant key is $50.50. If you bought it from me I would program it for free and give you a discount on the key price because you are a forum member. $140.00 is a rip-off if it is just the grey key.
if you loose a key? dont you have to go to the dealer and get them to make you a new one because i heard of the chip in the kep the truck will only run for about 10 minutes then not see the chip in the key and cut off? am i wrong?
My post may be misleading. What I meant to say was that you would have to actually come to my dealership for the key to be programmed. And when I sell a key and you are at my dealership, I would program it for free. I cannot pre-program it and ship it to you. If it is not programmed the truck will only run for about 3 seconds and die. If you continue to try to crank the truck, after about 8 attempts the truck will go into theft mode and shut down completely. I can sell and cut and ship the key but it still has to be programmed at a dealer or by a locksmith. Sorry for the confusion.
Isthe programminganything like IH's keys where you go through a sequence of cycling the keyswitch and pressing certian buttons?
No, you have to program in the secret pin number with the diag tool. I don't know any way around using the diag tool. A locksmith can usually do it, but you have to get the pin number from a dealer or find it on the original buyers papers.
