Default 2006-2500 HD cummings (towing)

This is my first dodge with the cummings. I'm getting a new toy hauler, dry weight is 13,700 lbs. what do i need to be concerned about If anything? I have been told that I'm 200 lbs over towing rating.

You should be fine as long as you lose the "g" on cummins and stop calling it a super duty. Congrats on the purchase though and welcome to the forum. As soon as you get pictures of your new truck and camper please load them up here so we can see them.

since you have a 2500, you will be overloaded if the law stops you. . .asside from that you will be fine.

also an important aspect is the pin weight.. a 13,700lb 5'r might have a dry pin weightaround 2700lbs.. i'd be more concerned with that.. make sure your ram sits pretty level.. if you go into it overloaded.. then take weight off the front wheels.. stopping it in an emergency might be tricky.. air bags are a great investment (if you need them).... my pin weight is around 1300lbs(loaded) and it drops the back of the truck about 2"..the front comes up 3/4".. just to give you an idea

"Dry" weight or GVWR? If your hauler is 13,700 empty, you're going to be way over by the time you add your toys, riding gear, bedding, food, clothes, water, gas for the fuel station, and propane and propane accesories.
If 13,700 is the GVWR, thenI think you'll be OKif you haveload range E tires on the truck.
What type of hauler are you getting? I have my eye on a Weekend Warrior FSW 3200.[sm=bling.gif]
That is the reason I went with the dually.
