Default clutch recommendations

I have an 06 cummins, with a diablo sport programmer and exhaust, I went to GA to pick up a car, and while driving down I noticed that in 6th gear when I would put it on the floor it seemed like the clutch was slipping, I didnt really pay any attention to it but on the way back home when the trailer was loaded I could really tell it was slipping and I have it on the lowest setting, even now with the truck unloaded is still slips, what is a good clutch to go with, something that wont slip under a heavy load or even a higher setting on my programmer with the truckunloaded? any help will be appriciated.

Thanks

You will hear the same answer on about 4 different Dodge related forums. It seems that South Bend has the goods when it comes to Dodge trucks!

south bend must be the way to go, even the local speed shops here in tennessee told me about south bend. do they have a website? what do their clutches start out at and what would you guys get if it were your truck and in the 900ft-lb range maybe a little more.

Thanks

I'll be getting a SB when the stocker dies. They have everything from beefed up stockers to dual disk setups for sled pullers. I hear they have good customer service too.

just google south bend clutch and it will come up. . .as far as the one you need with about 900ft-lb. . .what have you done to the engine??? my siggy shows what smarty(#5) stacked with TST(2/1) will do.

if anything Peter will probably steer you twards a Con FE clutch.

I called and talked with Peter earlier today and he told me the bad news $1795 plus another $250 for the hydraulic upgrade....WOW!! I about flipped my wig, Thats a little on the steep side and I financially cant afford that right now, plus the labor of putting it in. man I didnt know diesels were so expensive to work on. engine wise its all stock internals, with the programmer and exhaust right now, future plans are still up in the air. The reason I say 900ft-lb range is because I tow 12-15,000 lbs daily and I want something thats gonna stay together over the next several years and a stocker just aint gonna do it. Thanks for all the help, when I get the extra cash I will be going with a south bend clutch.

Thanks

you sure he wasnt quoting you a double disk??? the single disks should run sub 1K

you know what. . .you have an 06. . .most of that is also replaceing that pesky DMF that will crap out on you with a heavier clutch.
