towing options (truck)
Hey all,
Most of you know I need to get my truck repaired. Well I decided to do the work is Georgia and I live in Alabama. I'm looking for options for towing my truck to the shop. It weighs in just under 8000lbs. I'd like to rent a trailer (ball hitch)that can haul to truck but no one rents heavy duty trailers that I can find. Another option is flat towing with a tow bar, but I heard its illegal for any vehicle not equiped with trailer brakes. Does anyone know if this is true? any ideas would be greatly apprriciated.
Thanks

hey shaun. . .when you having this done??? I would not have a problem driving down and picking it up for ya, I may be able to get a trailer that can handle the load.
Its not illegal unless you get caught
Most troopers dont pay attention unless your doing something crazy. Ive been hauling up and down the hwy with raggedy trailers for years and have yet to have a problem.

that pics brings something to my memory, last year me and my brother where out to work on a small town not very far away when a gold tdi passed us by at around 130 KPH on the highway, this car had a bed mat strapped on is roof by a single bailing wire,we know it was bailing wire cuz of the color, but u may see that at 130KPH the mat was kinda bended in two and was flapping the roof of the car, about 400 feet past us we saw the white mate raise into the air and go over a van before falling into the median part betweeen the highway right into the ditch who was kinda wet and muddy... we laughed so much 30 mins later were still smiling about that
