Cummins Tree Service
I know this thread is useless without pics, but broke the damn digital camera, so the story will have to do. Sorry guys, Hoping to replace that camera soon, but when you are saving for a tranny, the little things gotta wait!
On to the Happenings...
Last night we had a pretty good storm, that ended up splitting one of the big trees in my front yard. Well, from the tree splitting the part that was still standing was actually leaning toward the house. The base of the tree is about 12 inches across, not huge, but fairly stout, and I never really liked those treees anyway.
So today at work I grabbed a couple straps and shackles and came home early. Cinched up around the tree about 5 feet off the ground and proceeded to back the truck up to the curb.
By this time the neighbors are wondering "what in the hell does this guy think he is gunna do?" and a few start walking out on to the street. As I get out of the truck to hook up the strap, I see a couple guys from the end of the block pointing and laughing, I dont think he thought it was gunna happen, but they walked closer to witness the event.
I get in, Put her in Low...tighten the straps, and give her some throttle...DAMN broke the rear tires loose. Slip her into Neutral, stick it in 4Low, back to L, DAMN...broke all 4 tires loose...OK...one more time, nice and easy into the throttle, she hooked up and TIMBER! Down that tree came, heard a little applause from some of the kids and a "WOW" from the laughing man. I was hoping to pull out the roots with it, but instead it snapped right at ground level
Of course none of them offered to help when I got out the chainsaw, but it was nice to show off the power of the Cummins.
