Is that a SQUIRREL in his mouth ?!?!? [:-]

Where I live squirrels are gray.

Ben - Kingdog is the guy you want to talk to about Sheperds. He apparently has always owned one. Shoot him a PM, although I haven't seen him in a while.

I've got a female German Shepard. Best dog I've ever had. She is very smart and although she is protetive of "her" house and property she likes to be petted by strangers, although I don't let children pet her cause i'm afraid they'll want to get into my back yard to play with her.
She has never come close to biting anyone, but she has scared the crap out of more than one person. She just has that real husky bark that frightens people on some primordial level.
She is an excellent watch dog. When my wife is home alone, the dog will go upstairs to check on my wife, then go downstairs and stay at the bottom of the stairs by the front door waiting.
When someone knocks on the front door, she makes sure that whoever it is knows there is a big dog in the house, and before I can open the door,I have to put her out back.
I never really trained her, but she is so smart she just knows what I want her to do.All she has everwanted to do is make me happy. I never felt the need to train her to do tricks and stuff and I never even had to house break her. Ever since she was four weeks old, she knew to go outside.
Just be prepared for all the hair everywhere (get a Dyson vac) and secure everything that can be knocked over. Her tail is like a big bat that's always swinging

Now my wifes ****su-pomerainian is the dumbest, meanest little bitch I have ever seen. It even bites my wife on occasion. Not to mention it pisses on the floor most every night[:@]
God help her, because if something ever happens to my wife, that dog is going STRAIGHT to the pound.

We have a newfoundland and a red heeler mix. The newfoundland is a great dog. she a moose but very affectionate to everyone. Great with kids too. The red heeler is a tough dog. He is really good with people and other dogs but extremely stubborn and likes to climb trees. The newfoundland is also a great watch dog. Like many others have said the owner makes the dog. I dont know about the home owners insurance but when we bought our house and got the insurance on it they just asked if we had dogs. Never got into what kinds we had.

Here are my two dogs, Westin (the fawn color) is my older dog, he is two now. He is the smartest dog I have ever known, I had him sitting at 8 weeks . He out smarts me all the time, you can watch him analize a situattion and it is amazing. I always joke that he is my hunting dog or bird dog.... as in humming birds . Westin, weighed 12.5 oz when we took possesion, and now ways 4.5 lbs. The blue grey color one is Wylee, he is about 1 now, and is dumb as ****, but solid muscle. He ways almost 10 pounds now muscle bone and a little skin. Anyway here they are.....

Westin at 8 weeks, sitting on command

Wylee at a few months, trying to cover his eyes, because of the camera flash

Both together (the wife is in the middle)
