dead on the road..... :(
well guys, Ive about had it with this truck!! I was delivering a fridge tonight and the electrical system malfuctioned burning a cell out in my optima battery and melting a fuse. [:@]
the optima read 189*f at one of the center cell packs after the truck died. the rad hose 6" away only read 150*. (of course I was usin my thermal scan gun that I pack in my glove box
)
thank goodness I had just dropped the fridge and was leavin the neighborhood when it died.
Called my friend with a new 6.7 to snag the overly huge battery from my baja., and called Sharky for a chit chat!! (yes, i run a huge truck batt in my baja for those "just in case" times
) . 45 min later he delivered it, we installed it, and had to run cables from truck to truck. it was a bit tired from sittin too long
everything seemed, fine. engine finally started to crank over. but no nothing!! CRANK CRANK CRANK!! NOTHIN BUT CRANK CRANK CRANK!!! [sm=headbang.gif][sm=headbang.gif]
then the dash went black. no lights, no bells, no whistles....natta!!! [sm=WTFsgign.gif]
did a wire harness check. found an inline fuse (installed by previous owner) had litteraly burned in place.
cut out the faulty section, did a splice (if you will) and the truck fired up like brand new!! no electrical pulsating , no flickerin lights, natta!! all gone [sm=happy046.gif]
drove it home and was ran better than it ever has !!!! [sm=happybounce.gif]
moral of the story, loose women and cheap beer are more fun than an old truck...
if ya gotta spend the money, buy new, or get checked for vd....
if I find the remaining parts of what I removed, I will post em here for fun.

I had an old chevy that the previous owner tried to make his own electrical repairs
. I'm surprise the whole truck didn't burn down. But after a days worth of work I had a truck with a brand new electrical harness. This was before Painless and a few other companies started making harnesses so I had to make my own (What a PITA[:@]). But I never had any electrical problems after that.

Since the divorce, I find myself liking loose women [8D], lol, but I drink Bud Lite,, the cheap beer was yrs ago when I was broke
. And I have a new truck, so I don't have any problems there.

I totally agree kevin. it's one thing if it's **** you did but when it is stuff that a moronic previous owner did it really drives you insane. that's what I deal with all the time on my 97 jeep TJ. lot of the problems i've had on it are the main reason I will really never buy used again. it just aint worth the hassle.
