how do i find the gear ratio? 5 spd diesel dually.

 

Open the hood andlook up just before the hood meets the grille there is a tag that has all the options listed----unless the hood had been replaced and the body shop did not replace the tag. otherwise give the vin to the parts guy at the dealership and they should be able to tell you---or you can jack up the rear, if you have an open diff, jack up one tire, if you have posi jack up both rear wheels, for open rear, put one mark on the tire and one on the driveline, turn the tire a full rev twice, count the total turns of the driveline, 4.11 turns is 4.11, 3.5 turns is 3.55 and so on. Same thing for the posi, only you turn the tire once, my bet is 3.55
