Starting of a crappy week!

RE: Starting of a crappy week!
I've been building powerlines since I was 19, working mostly 12 hr days. On storms we work 16's. When you have a bad job, you just gotta bow up to it and get after it. There has been a many days that I just hated my job, but I like being a lineman.I just put in for a job with the city power distribution as a lineman, if I get it, I'll be working the 3-11 shift doing trouble calls and street lights. They'll have to issue me a box of biscuits for all the gravy [8D]. I figure after all these years of working my a$$ off, it's time to take it easy.

Long weeks are tough...I put in 80 hours last week and am now sick...I am sure part of it had to do with the 20 hour day on Wednesday, but the nice thing is the time off means that much more to ya when you get it. I am just counting the days until the 16th, cause when I leave I am off til the 27th...much needed R&R.

I farmed and we would do 18-20 hour days which didn't bother me but since I was young and dumb and didn't care I only made about 6k all summer. Hopely I can put those hours in this new job and make about.......200k a year. and all I do is keep engines running, not rebuild to much just some. But I gotta work outside and thought I'd better do the outside hard **** now so I can work from a nice warmed up pickup making calls and watching the guys who did what I did.

$200k per year, that sure makes getting out of bed a little easier in the morning [sm=smiley20.gif]. When things look bad, just think of the paycheck...That is what gets me through the long days/weeks lately, I just think about what can be added to the truck!!![sm=icon_rock.gif]
