This is the Engine Temp Sensor that controls the computer. The Temp Guage Switch is somewhere else. It looks alot like the sensor but has a smaller wire connection.

Thanks

They arethe same sensor, or ast least on my truck they are. I know some of the freightliners have a temp sending unit and a coolant over temp switch but dodge doesn't run that setup. Only the one sending unit.

Yeah and if you short out that Orange and black wire on the sensor, it will throw a code P0214 and throw your truck into limp mode because it thinks that it has over heated. Yes I found that out the hard way.
