Have you heard of a bad MAP sensor at only 81k miles? In any case I will ask about it when I take it back to the dealer tomorrow.

Thanks, Amock, I'll get all of this checked out.

Did you notice bad mileage when this was going on?

I know that this may sound crazy, but have you checked your air filter. You would be suprised how many diesels that I see that "have no power" and have a clogged filter......I can't believe that dealers make people wait for a week or two to get in. Guess I am spoiled having a top notch diesel guy.

Would it really cause the CEL to come on and the engine to go into limp mode? I changed it about 6k miles ago, but I have done my share of driving on dirt roads. I'll run get a new one. I'll let you know if it helps. Thanks for the input.

I ran and got a K&N filter and the light went out as soon as I drove out of the Autozone parkinglot with the new filter installed. I hope that was my problem, but I have to say that the old one didn't seem to be to dirty when I took it out. I'll know tomorrow when I drive my daily 60 miles to work and back. Thanks for all of the input from everyone.

Well I drove about 60 miles today with no problems so I hope that the old filter was the cause of the problem. I am planning on going out of town on Saturday and I am kind of nervous about driving the truck, but I don't have much choice so I'm going anyway. I'll let you know if I have anymore problems.

Would the IAT sensor cause a problem like this? I'll probably pull it and clean it anyways just to be sure.

ORIGINAL: 04QC4X4

I ran and got a K&N filter...
If you insist on keeping that thing, please keep it cleaned and oiled properly (meaning not too much). when those things dry out there might as well not be an air cleaner, and if you put too much oil on 'em it'll get junk all over your turbo and intercooler. $0.02
