Default rubbing

Can anyone tell me why my tire rubs on the driverside front at full turn and not on passengerside.I just put on Dick Cepek DC-1's 17x9 with 4.5" back spacing wrapped with Hankook Dynapro MT's 35x12.5x17. I have a 2" leveling kit.

Can you see where its rubbing? My Toyo 35'srubbed with a 2" leveling kit. We tried to "adjust" the rear section of the front fenders, but I ended up making wide turns until the KORE suspension was installed. I don't think I've seen anyone run 35's rub-free without atleast a 3" lift, usually 33's are used.
As far as only rubbing on the driver's side, I'm out of ideas unless you just don't make tight turns the opposite way.

I had 35" Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips on factory rims with no rub. Now with the Hankooks and DC rimsit rubs on the lower fender drivers side only.

You do not have the correct backspacing. 4.5" will rub your upper control arm and probably the back rear of your wheel well. You need to be as close to 6" of backspacing.

It rubs on one side and not the other because by leveling it you have shifted the axle off center because of the way thetrack barhooks from the frame to the axle. You can fix this by getting an adjustable track bar or by getting a drop track bar bracket. But, realighning the axle may not solve the rubbing, it may just make it rub on both sides [:@].

Trac bar will not help in that way. Even though you should get an adj trac bar (Thuren Fabrication) to center the axle from side to side w/ a level or lift kit/system.Your truck will not feelackward going over bumps.

Thier is no way to solve the rubbing on the control arm w/ that backspacing unless you go w/ atleast 5" backpacing (optimal 6" w/ Dodges 2500/3500)or after market control arms. If it also rubs on the fender well. Then you can always shave it down.

I posted this on another thread. But I am running a set of KMC Badlands 18x 9 with 35 x 12.5 18 pro comp extreme T/A's with NO leveling kit. The wheels have a +18 offset and do not rub at all. I have inches of clearance from all turning angles.
I did purchase a 2" leveling kit and will be installing it this weekend though and will see what happens then. I suspect that your axle shifted over with the leveling kit just enough to rub the one side. If so I may need to look into buying the drop bracket for thetrack bar also.
Oops, my truck is a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 cummins.

I will try to take some pictures before I install the leveling kit. I have had the truck for 5 months and been wanting to run 35"'s but never could find the information I needed on if they would rub or not. Till I met a guy with the same wheels I have and turns out, you can do it but need around a +18 offset on the wheels and it's rub free. Even turning while bumping off road doesn't rub.

Also FYI: I started really wondering if the 2" leveling kit would shift my axle over any. So I called "Top Gun Customz" where I bought the kit and asked a tech. He told me that I won't see any axle shifting till you hit 3" of lift and that nothing else is required other that the 2" spacers. He assured me that nothing will change as far as the axle shifting goes.
I quess I'll find out this weekend?? I'll let ya know what happens and measure each side before and after.

i have the top gun leveling kit... i dont think it shifted my axle and if it did it was very minor.. for those of you using this leveling kit and 35's... how bad is the rubbing?

I guess you won't see any standing far back with the wheels pointed straight forward, but it will definitely shift the axle... it has too. It may be very minor and really unnoticeable, and probably will not be worth messing with, but it will move over.
