My truck died this morning. I started it up and was letting it idle and after about 10 seconds it died. I started it back up and waited a little longer and it seemed to be running fine. Then I was driving about 45 mph and it died again. I stopped and it started right up. I then drove about 10 miles without a problem. I was on my way home and and was pulling into traffic and it died again. This time it took a while to get it started. I preceded to make it about 200 yards and it died again. I finally sputtered back to the house. When it dies it is like it is running out of fuel. It will idle normally but when I put it in gear and try to take off it just sputters or it will take off and then start sputtering after a few seconds. What could this be? Fuel pump? Lift pump? I am going to have it towed to the dealer. Is fuel system stuff covered by the 100,000 mile warranty? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

 

Check the connections on your power puck.
Next would be a code scanner at autozone.
I bet it's the lift pump.

 

I forgot to mention I get codes P0193 (Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input) and P0299 (Turbo Underboost).

I have gotten the turbo code before but never the other.

 

Ok so ya got some codes ,
Well I would definatly have a look at your connection on your puck since the puck is a fuel and
timing unit. That could be the problem as for the turbo under boost, you could try cleaning your
air filter. Sometimes if the filter is ditry enuff it will show a under boost code.

 

Yea, I got the turbo code the other day so I put in a new filter and the CEL went out, but I still see the code on the odometer. I think it might take a while to clear. I'll check the connections on my Power Puck, if they look good should I try removing it and see if that helps?

 

It probably wouldn't hurt to unplug them and then reconnect them.
I'm gonna have to say that's where my money is.
Don't do any thing, like go to the dealer right away.
There a lot of guys on here that are way smarter than me when it comes to this stuff.
If Drew or jakebrake were here theymight have a better idea .

 

Take the puck off for a day and see if it still does it.

 

pull the puck off and drive it around and see if it is the puck that is causing it. If it goes away, put the puck back in using dielectric grease on the connections.

 

I took the puck off and drove it up and down the street with no problems. The CEL went out as soon as I started it and it sounded good. I'm a little nervous to take it very far because it gives no warning before it dies and I don't want to be stuck in traffic. I'm going to get someone to come over and ride with me this afternoon just in case we need to push.[:@]

 

Glad to hear it's runnin right.
Hopefully you can do like jake said and put some dielectric grease in the
connections and that will take care of it.
It would blow if your puck bit the dust .
Let us know what you find out.
