That is one good thing about the 6.7 it doesn't take 5 minutes to warm up the truck because of the exhaust brake.

i have a astrostart as well and it works awesome it waits about 30 seconds to start it all depends on how cold it is because it waits diffrent amounts of time on the temp. at least that is what the shop told me. the only thing that i dont like is that when ever i start my truck with it the temp goes to -40 for awhile some time doesnt go back to normal temp till it is shut off and started again.

I read my manual and indeed mine is for both gas or diesel. It even has a turbo cool down timer which i use all the time. I just cant figure it out. I havent monkeyed with it myself. I got a audio installation place to install it. They specialize in stereo hookup, chip installations, rims, wheeels, accessories...etc. My model is a Polar Start 4450. if any1 had issues with this or any other unit please respond as to what the fix is. thanks

Its only allowing my intake lamp to be on for 3 seconds and then it goes out then it waits 20-30 seconds and tries to start.and NOTHING

its a POLARSTART PS-4451TW-FM when i hit start button on remote this is what it does. Lights flash, intake heater light comes on for 2 seconds. goes out and then theres a 20 second pause. then it turns over for 1 second. and nothing. doesnt fire up. but after truck is warm it usually fires up?????????????

any info would be appreciated. Its been in shop 2 times already for warranty and every time it goes ther eit costs me $50 for diesel to drive in. i have 1 more appointment scheduled for december. what to do what to do...

Sallyman, sounds to me like a fault in the truck or the Polarstart installers did not tie into the correct ignition wires. If the intake heater is only cycling for 2 seconds that is a problem in the truck (ecm controls grid heater based on various sensor inputs). All remote starters I have installed monitor the wait to start light and do not attempt to crank until that light goes out. Based on what you are saying, that light is on for 2 seconds so the remote starter attempts to crank. I will do some looking into the Polarstart installation (if I can find any info online) and advise.

but wait. if i go in manually and use key the light will stay on for 10-20 seconds. the duration of the light is WAY shorter when i use start on remote VS. key in ignition manually.
