Default Any1 have trouble with remote starter units?

I have a 2004.5 dodge ram diesel. I had a POLARSTART installed professionally. It worked good for first month when it was warm outside no its cold and it doesnt. It only starts truck when truck is warm. They replaced the module once alreay and it still dont work. if you push button to start it only allows the intake heater light to be on for 3 seconds and then it tries turning over for 1 second and then nothing. then it tells my 2 way remote that the truck is running and its not. They dont know what to do. But if i go in manually and put key in ignition that intake heater light stays on for like 15-20 seconds when its cold. Has any1 else experienced this with their starter units? Mine i believe is a POLARSTART 4450

Is that one for a diesel, it's obviously not letting the grid heater cycle long enough. If it is for a diesel you should be able to adjust the "wait to start" time

I have an AstroStart, don't know which model, but it's tied into the wait to start light. I will start 10 seconds after it goes out. It's the second AstroStart I've had and I really like their quality. I would get another one in a second.

My guess is that one isn't designed for diesel. I would see if they will refund your money and get a different one.

I just got off work (nightshift) and its 41 degrees outside my wait to start light was on for about 30 seconds...I don't have an autostart but 3 seconds is definately not enough when it gets cold out!

Chewy bout how much was that AstroStart? I've been thinkin bout one, didn't really know if they made um for diesels because of the whole wait to start thing....

It was installed on the truck when I bought it, but I saw an invoice the previous owner had for $425 or so installed. It has 2 way communication and the range is awesome. I'll try and find the info and get the model number, but I don't think they sell this particular one anymore, I think they have newer models.

you must have a remote starter that is designed for the wait to start light. i have installed numerous avital remote starters and i think they all have the wait to start feature that ties into the light on the dash. at least the lastone i installed did.

Ihave a viper on my 04.5 The first one took a crap in less than6 months. Ithink it knew when I was going to start the truck because sometimes I would go out to get init andit would already be running for who knows how long. Talk about wierd stuff going on!A couple times of that and it got replaced!!! The second one has been in the truck since and no problems.
