My grid heater has been coming on since September. Really only notice it at night when the headlight dim. Supposedly it helps the truck to not smoke as bad when it is cold. Half of the time I forget to even let the heater go before starting it. I have yet to plug it in. Temps here have been in the 20s to 30s with an occasional 40 at mid day for the last two months.

This morning was the first morning mine had ever done that. Thank God I had read about this before it happened or I would have been worried also.

You must be in northern FL with those temps, my brother in law is in Ft Lauderdale, and when he bought his '05 the grid heater wasn't even plugged in and still isn't, never even waits for the wait to start light.
Yeah I'm North West right between Panma City and Pennsicola, The truck didn't have an engine block heater on it when I bought it and hardly ever has the wait to start light come on...
