Alternator?
Got off work a bit ago its 38 degrees outside...when I started the truck it started fine, ran fine, but when I'd barely touch the gas the lights would dim and charging gauge would drop to about 1/4 of the full gauge and went back to normal after idling less than 5 seconds....Did it do this because possibly since its cold batteries and pulled alot of power for the cold start, and the alternator possibly has a safety where it won't put out at full capacity when not at idle to prevent burning it up? after the truck warmed up it stopped doing it....so far its happened twice both on cold starts below 45 degrees...
lol I've had a long day been up about 36 hours...fixin to sleep, so you think I should take it in to have it checked out tomarrow...well later today i guess

I wouldn't take it anywhere, your truck is fine. Mine does it too, the grid heater draws a lot of amps. If you watch you will se the volt meter swing, the lights will dim and you will hear the engine get louder. It's made to cycle on/off like that. You have nothing to worry about.
Alright thanks, you hit it right on with the volt meter swing, lights dim, and truck getting louder so we're good....First cold we've had in Florida so far so with a new truck I'd never had it do that before ya know, Thanks, I'm gonna get some sleep!
You must be in northern FL with those temps, my brother in law is in Ft Lauderdale, and when he bought his '05 the grid heater wasn't even plugged in and still isn't, never even waits for the wait to start light.
