Unfortunately I don't think you can check codes like that on my year. I too am starting to wonder if it is indeed the Edge. It's weird. It happens, then it doesn't then it happens ect. I'm going to take it to a friends shop hopefully tonight and have him scan it. I really hope it's nothing major. Would a bad MAP sensor or something like that do what I'm describing?

 

How many miles areon your truck and when was the last time you had a trany service?

 

And have you tryed to check the codes like that? I thought you could do it on the 98 and up trucks.

 

I've got 127K on my truck and i just installed my deep dish Mag-hytec trans pan and new filter probably less than 20K ago.

I was told that it doesn't work on my year Ram, so no, I haven't tried to check for codes. I'm going to try and get to my friends shop tonight and have him scan it.

I had a 99 and i could not do it like that. I think it is only on the 3rd gen trucks you can do that

 

It works on my 2nd gen (2000) I guess thats why I thought it would work on all the 24V. trucks.
