Well, I've got good news and bad news all at the same time.

1st. It seems my tranny is fine ... WHEW !!

2nd. It seems like my Edge has taken a dump

I mentioned this morning that my truck was running like crap. It felt like I was towing abuilding behind it, and yet I wasn't towing anything at all. Once on the highway, at 60 mph my RPM's were over 2200 and still not shifting. I thought my tranny had taken a crap, but wasn't sure. I turned off my Edge just to make sure.

When I left work, I hopped up on the turnpike and decided to give my Ram the ole "Italian Tune Up". I set the Edge back to where I was getting my best mileage ( 3 / 2 ) and MASHED IT !!! It left quite a puff of smoke and I quickly pegged 30lbs of boost. I let off and cruised the rest of the way. The truck definately felt better. I thought I had fixed it. When I got to the toll booth after paying the toll while trying to pull away the truck just died. I turned off the Edge, and fired it up. It ran and shifted just fine.

Not ready to give up on the Edge just yet, I turned it on again on another highway. The truck ran GREAT on the highway, yet once I came to a stop the Ram just died when trying to pull away. It happened 2 more times so I just turned the Edge off.

Sucks that the Edge seems to be the problem, and yet I'm happy that it's nothing else.

Any ideas why the Edge crapped out?

had mine over a year now, no problems at all with it.

 

When my Bully Dog screwed up, I just sent in and they reflashed it for me, then sent it back at no charge. You should call Edge, they may do the same thing.

 

call edge and see if they will fix it under warranty. I had the same thing happen to me and they took care of it.

 

check your ground points as well....

 

Are you sure you didn't get the Edge with Poop-a-tude model?

This morning with my edge turned off my truck did the same damn thing. It would rev up but it just wouldn't go. Like the converter was slipping or something. I made it to a driveway and totally unplugged my Edge altogether ( the harness in the back of the Edge ). The truck ran exactly the same only now I have a CEL light on. ( remember I had a CEL a month or so ago but it went out on it's own so I never knew why ). So after the truck was running the same way I plugged the Edge back in, turned it on, and the truck ran fine.

Could it be your injection pump?

 

I don't think so. It didn't feel like it wasn't getting fuel, it felt like I was trying to pull a building down the road. The truck would rev up and move, but it moved very slowly, kinda like the converter wasn't engaging or like something was choking it. Yeah, that's it. It felt like the truck was being choked.

 

You sed you got a CEL right? Did you check the code? If you check the code and look it ip it may tell you what the problim is. It may not end up being the edge unit. If you dont know how to check the codes hear is what you do. Get in your truck turn the key to the on position but no not start. back one click on and back and on. On the third time in the on position leave it there and it wil pull the codes in the odomiter window.
