I run Rotella 5W40 full synthetic and have run Rotella 15W40 for break in period. We have run Rotella 15w40 in all of our industrial equipment with no engine failures, it has a proven track record. I believe that the synthetic oil is a better choice if you plan on keeping you vehicle for a long time. If I knew that I would be trading my vehicle in every 3 or 4 years I would run conventional oil. My previous vehicle was a 1992 Dodge Dakota which I had for 14 years/ 180,000 km.
