Default Which Transmission??

I've got a basic question. I thought my truck had the 48re tranny, however the local shop that does all my service is telling me that everything that they are finding is for a 47re. My truck is an 03 HD, 305hp cummins. Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

what's the build date of your truck ? The 03's had 47's and changed to 48's for the 03.5 models

The build date was 10-02. The tranny codes in the glove box are - DGB, and DGP

I'd say you have the 47 then. You can always call a dealer with the VIN to be sure

DGP equals 47RE
DGB is the generic term for 4 speed automatic.
I'm sorta in the know on this one, but PM me your VIN and I will get a build sheet...
