Default fuel prices

I drove through Tucumcari, New Mexico on wednesday and the price of diesel was as usual high 3.50 while gas was 2.77 and even Chevron was 2.78. everywhere else along the way from Amarillo (3.17 for gas 3.35 Diesel) to AngelFire (3.59 for gas 3.69 Diesel)
EXPLAIN THIS. Its not transportaion costs because Tucumcari is in the middle of nowhere

What I really want to know, is why is Diesel more expencive than gas?????
It has always been less than gas and is nothing more than a by-product of refining gasoline. All I can figure, is there is a supply/demand problem with diesel?
You big oil cumpanies are hard at work gouging the hell out of us again. While they sit there and say they aren't making any money??? Do I need remind of the last time fuel skyrocketed and oil companies were saying that they were reducing profits to try to get the cost down at the pump? Then they announced RECORD PROFITS that year??
The problem is our government is letting this **** happen. They need to step in and say enough is enough. Fuel should cost at least 1/3 less than what it is right now. It's all BS!!!
Oh , and BP can kiss my A$#@ !! They can pull out of North America for all I care. That 53 million fine wasn't even close to what it should have been and to top it off, the money goes to the federal government and NOT to those who got screwed.

I vote "Carrot Top" for Pressident this year !!!

WHEW......Sorry for the rant. Just pisses me off

Big oil companies dont want alternative fuels such as diesel because profits will go we would all be getting better mileage. what worries me is if Billary gets in she is going to tax our fuel more

3.32 In Orlando, there importing gas so it gets cheaper but the diesel is used to get the gas here or maybe they throwing it away down there, but now we back to paying more than high test gas, for what that use to throw away.

The government can take half the taxes off the diesel, they have more taxes on diesel so we get to pay them taxes when we go shopping as the cost is transfered to us as company's don't pay taxes, we do.

home heating oil and #2 are one in the same. . .refineries are already tapped out for production so increaseing the prices is in direct result of supply and demand. . .If we tell the hippies where they can take their crap and shove it, build more refining capacity that hasnt been done in nearly 30 years the price of fuel will go down.

Heh, not in Texas if TEXDOT has their way. TEXDOT is looking at imposing a "driving tax" where you get charged a tax based on the number of miles you drive...in ADDITION to the fuel taxes already at the pump.

They are claiming the demand for gas is going down and they aren't making money, so they want another tax.

This is at complete odds with the claim demand is high so prices are high...question is, which is it?
