Default Anyone do their own lift kit?

Man I tried last weekend to install my leveling kit but don't have proper tools to do it.
I go today to price lift kits and to price labor on installing the leveling kit and they want $2100 for a 6" or 4" lift and wanted $350 labor to install the leveling kit??
That seems a bit hight to me.
Does anyone do their own lift work? And could maybe giva a few pointers on how it should be done?
Or better yet, anyone wanna make some $$ and install mine for me?
I know what needs to be done but some things are almost impossable without an Impact and air. Like the damn nut on the top of the shock. And those three nuts on the isolator that you need a 2 foot extension to get to them.
And while I'm on the subject, why in the hell is ever nut and bold on these trucks Metric??? Even down to the trim bolts around the fenderwells, they are metric too.

the metric part pisses me off also. If you are in Arizona come by, I have air. a couple impacts and tons of extensions.

I installed my 2" level in my driveway with regular old tools, no air. It wasn't that hard at all. If I remember right you don't even have to take the nut off of the top of the shock, I think you can take the bolt out of the bottom and take the three nuts off of the tower and take the tower and the shock out together, the only bolt that had alot of torque or anything was the track bar, which BTW I'm not sure why it had me take that bolt out??... like I said I can't remember it to well, even though it was only6 months or so ago. I have pictures and could walk you through it if you have any problems,I would come over but St. Louis is a little to far. I had more trouble trying to change the steering stabilizer (that gay pressed on collar deal), then I did installing the whole leveling kit. I plan on installing my lift too, once I get it....

I don't know how you pulled the stower and shock up thru all the hoses, wires, battery, ect.
I need to pop the hood tomorrow and have another look then. I stopped when I couldnt keep the shock from spinning.

hehehe, yeah you have to hold the hex on top and turn the nut with a wrench at the same time. I think I took my towers off and then pulled the shocks up and out, but I believe thatI had enough room that I could have lef the towers attached to the shocks. If you have the 6.7L I can't tell ya though, mine is a 5.9L, the 6.7L might have the engine compartment jumbled up a bit more .

Oh yeah, I definitely did not pull any hoses, or battery trays, or the air box, or anything, there was a enough room as it was. My B-n-Law's 2nd gen required a little work under the hood to make room though[:@].
