I need some info guys.
Well I've been shoppin around for a cummins , but I figured I'd stop and
see what is bad and what is good.
My wants are.
3rd gen 03 to 05
3/4 ton
4X4
5.9 cummins
extended cab / shortbed
color is optional.
I think I want a stickshift not sure yet.
So if any of yall know some bad things to watch out for or I need to check out.
Let me know.

For starters they don't make an extended cab. That went out with the 2nd gens. So you'll be getting a 4 door. As for a transimission 05 is when they swapped to the g56 from the nv5600. Parts are hard to come by for the old nv5600 but they are still out there. Hope fully someone will resolve this problem. If ya get one with the g56 you'll have a dual mass flywheel. Which means your gonna have to buy a clutch real soon and ditch that pathetic attempt of a paper weight.
I believe the 04.5 has a difference in power over the 03 and 04 even with the high output. personally if you are goign to keep the truck for a while. get the laramine, I love the features it has, the u-connect is great, the stearing wheel controls really help out sometimes. If your gonna do it, do it right.

The truck in the pic has 90k on it and selling for 20k.
So it's not a bad deal, just not quite what I want.
They list the hp at 330 on it too.

I say wait for the truck you want. Don't compromise, you'll be happier in the end. I do like that truck though. I would get better use out of itbecause ofthe long bed then a 4 door short bed. (my quad barely fits in a long bed)

I guess the only reason I'm a little leary about this truck is , it has so
much already done to it.
I don't want some ones ragged out hand me down.
I'm lookin for the one where the guy lost his job and had to trade in for less payment.
I know that sounded bad, but screw 'em. I'm lookin for a good truck for a good deal.

I had to get the 6 speed manual. Don't settle for a regular cab. When you do, you'll really wish you had the extra room. I also had to get the long bed. We go camping alot, and I actually USE it as a truck. Just an FYI... I bought my 04 in 06 with 60K miles. Paid $26- included in that was a great aftermarket warranty that covers EVERYTHING with no deductible. The warranty will expire at the same time my truck is paid off.
