Default What is Hitch rated at on 2004 ram 2500?

i have a 2004.5 dodge ram 2500 quad cab 4X4.5.9 cummins. I think it came with towing package because it has tranny and ps steering cooler. Whether it has towing package or not (how do u know?) what is our hidden hitch rated at for lbs? What can max tongue weight be of a trailer? is it beefy enough or do most add a different hidden hitch?

The coolers would have been on the truck regardless. That fact you have a hitch means you have a tow package. This is from Dodge...

"The Class IV factory installed receiver hitch installed on a 2004.5 Dodge 2500 Ram pickup (as part of Trailer Tow Group Option AHC) is rated for a tongue weight of 350 pounds and a trailer weight of 3500 pounds when NOT USING a weight distributing hitch, and is rated for a tongue weight of 1200 pounds and a trailer weight of 12,000 pounds when USING a weight distributing hitch."

You can also look on the hitch to see what it says for tow ratings
