Default smarty or smarty jr??

I know this has probably been asked, but I want to hear opinions about these. I definately want one for Christmas. As I understand it the smarty jr is equivalent to smarty level 1, 3 and 5. I don't want to trash anything or upgrade trans parts, so I probably wouldn't go beyond 5 on the smarty anyway. Are there any other differences between the two?? Any advantages on either?? Thanks

the only disadvantage to the Jr. is it doesn't have all the levels as the Sr. It's a three setting box... econo, mpg and towing. The Sr has more software ( mild , moderate & wild ) to choose from all with 9 levels

The Jr is for someone not looking for a lot of performance, just what i mentioned above. The Sr can do the same as the Jr but, has up to 170hp added on level #9 <<< watch that tranny !!!!!!

The Jr doesn't do the speed limiter...? No biggy the only time I ever get to set my cruise at 115 is back in OK, and parts of TX ....the VERY EMPTY parts

It does the tire size though right...I think I read it does....!?

I don't know that the dealer wouold even touch the speed limiter. Plus, if they would... they sure wouldn't set it to the 250mph it can be set for ! he he he

I don't know for sure but, I'd be willing to bet cash that they won't. The limiter is there for a reason. Put in place by D/C to cover liabilities that may araise from someone taking a 7000lbs truck to 120mph. They aren't gonna be the one's that let that happen. Same with the rev limiter. Smarty will soon have a software that takes the rpm's to 4100rpm fueling all the way. Do you think the dealer would override the rev limiter too ? Just like the speed... I doubt it. :-)

Maybe parts/service will chime in and tell use the dealer perspective....
