So my pyro took a dump last night
I've been wan't to put in a pyrometer, whats the best place to put it? pre post or on a specific area of the manifold...I'm lost do gauges usually come witha probe or do i need to get that seperate? whats max temp for where ever you say to put the probe?
Hey mayfair you can purchase a eight position rotary switch from Radio Shack and us it to monitor more than one probe by switching the input to the gauge. I am in the process of getting Westachs dual temperature gauge and I am going to wire it so that I can watch my Transmission Temperature precooler and post cooler, and then install the switch to monitor anything else that I want too, the combination of what I want to monitor can be varied dramaticly using one gauge.
Guages will come with the probe. As far as where to mount it post turbo if you aren't gonna hotrod it pre turbo if ya tow alot or bomb it. As for which spot in the manifold between 1-2 cylinders was the easiest place to get to on my engine. Any other place I would have had to scrounge up an angle drill.
hey aero.... jake is not telling you everything there is to know about the best place to mount a pyro!
jake, did you ever finish the DIY write-up on this mounting technique?!?!
