Default So my pyro took a dump last night

Picked up a new one from my shop this morning and decided to put it in the manifold just to see what the difference between pre and post turbo. I installed mine between the first and second cylinders just cause it was easy to get to. Took all of about 5min to drill and tap out the manifold. No grease on the drill bit, used compressed air to blow chips away as I drilled the hole. I greased the hell out of the tap, anyways time for some numbers. Running at idle the temps for both pre and post were 300F. Running down the freeway at 60mph 1600rpm pre is 680F post was 610F. Just for the hell of it I put the edge to lvl 5 on a long steep hill and put it to the floor. Pre turbo maxed at 1000F post turbo maxed at 810F. So now I know I have room to add a little more fuel in the future

Just remember that cylinder 6 (the hottest one of them all) can be several hundred degrees hotter then cylinder #1.

[sm=huh.gif]
According to my IR temp gun they are all about the same (+ or - 5F)
I'll have to look at the coolant flow in the manual tommarow but I don't think there is a certain cylinder that runs hotter. I know all the injectors are the same p/n unlike the 444E where #8 cylinder has a different p/n, so they all should have the same spray pattern.
If I remeber right when triton fried his it was #4 cylinder not #6

So how did your pyro take a dump? I don't understand.

Did you run a new seperate pyro gauge, or are you somehow switching back and forth between the two probes on the same gauge?

I put the new pyro in the post turbo hole I had and ran it and ran it and recorded temps. Then I drilled the new location in the manifold and ran it to see what the temps were. The actual sending unit went bad (gauge was always pegged)

So you drove around for a while with one probe hooked up to your pyro, and then you unhooked it and hooked the other one up and drove the same route?

Nope used the same probe, just put a plug in the hole in the down pipe and moved it to the manifold. All readings were taken with the same probe.

IS there a way to switch back and forth between two probes with the same gauge? That would be cool, although I don't know how you'd do it.

You could, you'd just put a swith inline to the gauge to switch between probes.
