Getting time to shop for tires...
Getting time to start tire shopping, would like to go taller but unsure how tall can go on a 2006 3500 4x4 no lift, LT285/LT315/7R17 on the stock wheels or say 20" wheels with what tire?

There are a few guys on here that are running 35"s with no lift or level kit, including my self.
You can run up to a 35" tire depending on the wheel and the offset of the wheel.
There are a few recent threads on this if you go back a page or two.

Depends...example, mine...I had a 2" level kit and the dealer put on 18" 325/65/18 with a +25 offset, not the look I was looking for. I got the same tire size with a 0 offset and they had no chance of fitting. A positive offset will put the tires and wheels closer to the center so the front tires don't swing as wide as if they were towards 0 or even negative. You need to find someone with the same truck and the largest size they put on and find out the offset>>>>the offset is sometimes ignored....good luck
I have 18 x 9 " wheels and a +18 offset with 12.5 wide Pro comps and they fit GREAT.
And FYI , your stock wheels have a +45 or so Offset and like a 6.25" backspacing on the 17" x 8" stock wheel.
Mine for example, are +18 offset and 5.71" backspacing and is a 9" wide wheel. I know that this wheel should work on most stock trucks (4x4) with no lift or leveling needed.

I don't like the tread pattern. Looks like a brain cut in half......lol

I thoght stock wheels had 6.5" of backspacing and +45mm of offset since I haven't seen any rim with 4.5" bs and +45mm os most 4.5" bs rims have -12mm os and with a 2" leveling kit the biggest tire you can run is a 33" since that is what I have on my truck now and looking to change.
