Here is a link to my latest analysis.

My percentage of fuel in oil was not as high this time, but there was only 1624 miles on the oil. I took the sample when the "oil change required" light came on to see if it was total BS (it is). I'm waiting a bit to do the second oil change and will take another sample at that time. I'm really concerned about the fuel in oil. I believe it is the result of the extra injection event for the DPF. In other words, our MPG is getting dumped into the exhaust (and the crankcase as well it seems).

If I were you, I'd change that oil immediately due to the fuel in oil.

I doubt I do an oilanalysis on my 01, but my new pickup will get em since I'll be sending them in with my company in Natural Gas Compression. We do them every oil change on these engines or so I'm told so maybe I can get a deal on it if I send mine in as well.

Sabersix: I don't know if this holds true for you guys but most vehicles I know of that have an oil change light it's programmed to come on every so many miles (3000 for example), I would guess it's set up the same for you guys unless the truck can analyze the oil on the fly

Are you saying your company truck runs on CNG? Let us know how you like that.

No my truck runs on Diesel, its the engines I work on run on Natural Gas. They are stationary. Right now we are working on Waukesha, and fixing to put a Cat 3306 back together. Main reason I'm posting here is cause we are working on oil analysis in the class and working on engines in the shop.

Yeah it can't analyze oil, but it is supposed to be smarter than just straight mileage. AFAIK it takes idle time, speed, etc. into account, but by all accounts I've heard is that the algorithm doesn't work. My first change oil light came on at 3500 miles. I changed it at 4700 (coupon while at dealer for turbo). The light came back on 1624 miles later. That's why I took the latest sample to see how accurate (or not) it was. I would just go straight by the manual, which is 7500 miles, but I'm concerned about the fuel in oil and want proof to take to Dodge.

I took the sample as I was changing the oil. I'll probably take Blackstone's advice and change it at 5,000 miles next time. Hopefully the high fuel percentage in the oil will not continue. You may be correct that the regen cycle is causing it. One of these days I am going to buy a "DPF delete" kit from that guy on the TDR forum. Besides the pipe it has a black box that you wire into your system that tells the ECM to "forget" the regeneration cycle.

for nearly 8k everything looks inline with what you should be seeing. . .if you see your copper skyrocket that would be your oil cooler starting to go BTW.
