Can't you license up your truck to a higher weight class?

Sterling has a version of the 4500 and 5500 and it is a DODGE truck with different badges and grill. You might see what they are rated at. Really at 26K you are over weight for the 450 too. So you are really not limiting your legal exposure by going there. The other alternative is a purpose built tow rig.

Is your trailer weight 26000 or 24500? I'm confused now. Not trying to be a smart guy here, but 26000 still exceeds 24500. The sterlings only show a GCWR of 26000 so they aren't an option either. That IH a couple of posts up should do the trick. I beleive their are others in that class as well.

When I have 4 horses in my rig which is very rare I end up at 26500 but the norm for me is 24000

Over weight and grossly over weight is huge in the legal world of law suits.. I have read the cases its a fact.

So I am ok with a thousand or two over
