Default Fall Hiking in the Sierra's...

went hiking today...since there was no new snow in the past month I figured the trails should be pretty clear. boy was I right.

Hiked about 6~7 miles total... Louie for some reason freaked out at the 1st lake we came to and did not seem too interested in going on to the 2nd & 3rd lakes.

anyways... enjoy.

Louie decided the fastest way to catch up was across the lake... walking on water (so to speak). damn lucky he didnt fall thru. I kicked thru it so he could see it was water underneath.

Nice pics, Maybe one of these days I can get the time to go along on one of the trail rides or hikes.

Steve, you ever think about just becoming a professional photographer? Think about it, hiking, taking pictures and getting paid!

Beautiful photos.

Misinterpreted the subject line... I was looking for news about a broken leg or twisted ankle.

Steve, you've REALLY gotta be careful about letting Louie run on the ice !!

I had a friend of mine who's dog like Louie used to jump right in at the sight of water. Well, I guess his dog was so used to this particular area that as soon as he got there his dig went to jump in and it was ice, but thin ice. His dog went right through and under the ice. My friend had to followalong from on top of the ice ( think The Omen scene ) and he was able to break the ice open and pull his dog out. He had to give the dog mouth to mouth (more like nose ) and he had to rush the dog to the vet hospital. The dogfinally came around and to this day is OK, but what a scary moment. My friend and that dog are inseperable. I can't even think of the day that dog passes ...

Anyway , off of the soapbox. BEAUTIFUL pics Steve !! Glad to see that even though you now have a 100 hour a week job that you still have time for stuff like this. Thanks for sharin !!
