My 5.9 smoked more when it was new. It seems to have calmed down a bit now though. Maybe just give it some time to break in a little more. It will smoke anyway if you tramp on it, but just a little touch should not be doing that. Have you checked your mileage yet, maybe overfueling?? Or as said before problem with the air supply/turbo.

I would have to say dirty air filter. That would be my first place to look. My truck is also fully stock and I get a lot of smoke when I step on it. Seriously though when my air filter gets dirty it will smoke real bad.

I wish mine would produce smoke like that [8D]. I turned my programmer up all the way, though I drive it easy anyways. But when I do get on it, I see some smoke now.

Why is it such a big deal? It's a diesel. It's gonna smoke.

When I had my stock exhaust on my 06 5.9 I would geta good little cloud of smoke if I got on it hard after a day of driving really easy. But ever since I put my MBRP catback on, I rarely ever see any smoke at all. Dunno why that is though
