Instead of procrastinating and posting here, hop on over to AMSOIL.com and order away... [8D] Depending on where you are, you may even find a local dealer who stocks what you need.

Just saw at wal mart today oil called Del Vac by mobil 1, I didn't get a chance to look at it closely. Does anyone use this type oil?
I do/did... to flush my motor. runs fine but amsoil is going back in on Saturday. oil analyisis on the amsoil tells me to never go beyond the 10k mark with it though...

I'm surprised to hear you can't go past 10K with Amsoil 15w40. When I did my UOA when I changed the 5w30 HDD at 7K it still had a TBN of 10.01. I will be doing a UOA again come spring to see how well the 5w30 HDD holds up over the wintertime with the longer warm up times, but hope to read at that time that it will last a full year or 15K.

Test results indicate no significant difference in engine efficiency between synthetic and
mineral base lube oils at normal operating temperatures. Since the synthetics are more
expensive and, in an engine crankcase, are subject to the same contaminants as mineral-
based oils, they may not be cost effective.

do I need to wait until 40,000 miles until I switch to synthetic? My ride sits a lot and I wanted to switch to synthetic for both protection and reduced friction on startup after sitting for a long time.
