Nope.

Using the ol calculator.....
75% of my driving is pretty much hiway.
I even started to keep it around 1800 rpm .....really did not see an improvement.
Just thinkin she should get more MPG as the motor wears....

Your engine doesn't have a break in period. Considering you're driving a 6500lbs truck, I'd say 17.5 is pretty damn good ! What are you expecting to see ?

with 13K on it you may see it go up a little more but that is it. I started out at 13mpg off the lot. . .15-18K I finaly topped out at 16mpg in stock form. TST gave me a little more mileage.

want better mileage??? check out my mpg thread in my signature. In the middle of testing different things and so far have gone from a consistant high 16's/low 17's (old commute) to low 18's (longer commute, 2500' elevation climb/drop... 85 mi 1 way).

IMO, your mileage is pretty good considering the amount of miles on the clock and it's a mega cab.

One thing to add... having put 65k miles in less than 2 years on my truck, I've seen it's performance improve/change at the 50~60k mile mark. no explanation for it, performance goodies have remained the same in that time period. motor just seems alot looser than it did in the previous 40k miles (bought it with 13k on it).

Don't forget you need to load it down with some weight to break it in, I got mine used and it was getting 13 and 14 MPG with 25000 on it, till the next week when I started pulling a 16 enclosed trailer with about 5000 pounds in it and the next thing I knew I was getting 14 pulling the trailer and it jumped to 17 around town with mixed highway and town and 19 on the road.

Mine is slipping a little need to get a load it soon, I was hoping to pull a few trailers full of gators, but missed one load when I was out of town, maybe I can hook to his 6.0no and tow him back to town, when his turbo goes all the way out LOL.

lol Herb you and your gators man....gets me every time....

I was gonna go grab a load of steal in mobile (bout 2 hours away) and run it down here for a construction job, I was wantin to do it to get a good load on it I've heard the same about the cummins gettin happier after ya put er ta work...Turned out the load will be ready for pick-up the day before my 19 hour trip for xmas though so I decided to let my bud make the cash...can't win um all...

Can't wait till summer comes around again though ppl down here pay to get their huge 60ft. yatchs pulled from place to place cause its cheaper than fuel to "drive" them from here to say panama city or pennsicola, and their rich so they have other ppl do their dirty work...
