I have a Truxedo Lo-Pro tonneau and love it. No leaks at all. When rolled up, the bows roll up with it and you can remove the whole rolled up section with just two clips, the rails stay on the truck or you can remove the rails also. Comes with six aluminum clamps also. Paid $250 new.

I had a hard tonneau on my last truck, was no way as versitle.

xtrik8, how does the velcro seem to hold up? it seems to me that dust, dead leaf particles, pollen, etc would accumulate, esp if it was rolledand un-rolled often. how much weight can be placed on top?

The Pace Edwards are junk we had three of them, if you don't keep the track clean it will not roll up and you have to take it a part to clean. I saw one that had sealed bearings that rode in the track instead of plastic sliding on aluminum but the cover was made of plastic.

Lilfroger asked me to pop in and give you my two cents

I had a Peragon cover on my Silverado. It was sweet and I am getting one for my new truck. It is a "different" kind of cover. You can go to their website and read about it (www.peragon.com). Peragon is a little expensive, but well worth it!!! In a nutshell, it has no "rolling-up" going on (no comments please :P). When opened, it folds together in a 6" area, at the front of your truck. It is totally weather proof, if installed correctly, and the entire thing can be removed in minutes. It is an accordion style black powder coated hard cover. I never had problems with mine. One of the coolest features is there is no need for any grease in the rails because they roll on their own sealed bearings.

Here are a few pics of it when it was on my Silverado:

I would say no more than 50 pounds. It is a hard cover, aircraft aluminum, but it is not made to "carry" stuff on top of it, just protect what is under it

Check out the Roll-N-Lock...I installed one on my fathers truck and it was easy to install and has looked great for the past few years. He hasn't had any problems with dirt or grime jamming up the track or making it difficult to use. Its well gasketed and fits tight and he hasnt had any water leaks.

mytowrig:

So far, no problems with the velcro, it has only been on since March though. Nothing to speak of has stuck to the velcro but I usually have the cover on except when I want to haul something. We just had a bunch of snow the other day. We had about 8 inches of wet snow and my truck was parked outside at work. No problems with the cover. Drove down the highway and 95% of the snow was off when I got home. I had a A.R.E. hard tonneau before. It was nice if you never hauled anything above the rails and it locked but very heavy and required two people to remove. Hope this helps.

Mike.

i have the truxedo lo-pro, and a pro lock tailgate handle lock, it is reasonably water tight, a little bit in the front corner and a small amount inside the tailgate.
