Default Transmission Hum

My tranny on my03 2500 with 60k on it is starting to generate a humming noise between 60 and 70 mph. I just started to hear it and it is getting to be annoying. The fluids are good and not burnt in color. Is this considered the norm? I believe it is the 47re. Shouls I drop the pan and put some good quality fluid and will that get rid of the noise. I don't want to cover up a problem that I might be able to fix now and save some big dollars later.

Are you sure it's the trans and not your rear?

You might just need to change the fliud in your diffs.

my first thought was a u joint as well. Is there any vibration in the pedal?

I had a whine and a vibration between 70 and 75. I change all 3 u-joints on the front axle and its like new. That would be my first guess as to what is causing your noise.
