RE: cummins weight
the only reason I mentioned that is in another former life I drove a freightliner and granted it was personaly owned, it was still for a buisness. . .I found many back roads around weigh stations. even though I was only grossing around 40K I didnt have a CDL. had to do what I had to do
besides, in georgia the cops around here are quick to break out the scales.

For a private rig say like big river's got are we supposed to stop at a weigh station....lol
I pull yatchs from time to time for private owners some 60" boats sometimes and construction equiptment for a company I don't actually work for... seen loads as high as 36k for short 1-2hour runs and I-10 has wieght stations all over it...and since I don't own them I was j/w now that ya mentioned it...I got a CDL as well

you want to get technical on them RVs? most of the RVs on the road should have a class c or so license. class D license is only good to 16000. besides recreational vehicle are exempt from having to have a CDL. at least in the state of illinois. if you want to argue that one i can post the site that has the cdl handbook on it as i got that straight out of the handbook. it does have have to be for personal use though.

RE: cummins weight
I've only been draggin my 5'ver around for a year or so, but from my experience, yet spent many years on the Interstates. I really can't remember ever seeing a 5'ver much less a motohome pulled into a weigh station. No doubt that those large land yachts weigh a considerable amount. Also, when purchasing my 5'ver, or at the time of insuring it, never did the question come up of having a CDL. I hate to blow off anything which might put me in legal issues, but I suppose I should look further into this. ( If my 5'ver is too heavy, I may be selling my ride to Mayfair after all!!!! )
